I have finished at MIFGS 2025 and will have to think of something very different to do a third Melbourne Intl. Flower and Garden show. I am considering counselling, for my obsession with Brick Frogs (the inset of a pressed bricks maker). I read the names of all the many makers and know that the locations are now multi million apartment complexes and the fact that every one is slightly different, from a time that has gone, well…. I also acknowledge that it was back breaking work, poor working conditions and a major polluter near a major city centre.

I was back at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show (MIFGS2025) on Saturday setting up as an exhibitor for the first time in 8 years. I will post a picture of the completed works later in the week. I will be at the show for meet and greets on Thursday morning 27th March, if you are around say hello. Cheers Paul

This weekend I am involved in Garden designfest, much like the Open Garden Victoria, except you also get to meet the Designer in the garden space. There are 23 gardens open across Greater Melbourne this weekend. All monies raised go to some fantastic charity projects.

I delivered the design for this Project in Heidelberg Heights during Covid 2020. I always say it's a journey and the garden aspect of that journey has just been delivered. I have been lucky to have got to know John and Bron and that has been as rewarding as actually delivering their beautiful garden. I will say that I have never been challenged so much in delivering the planting scheme; every space has been fought over not to put an edible into it. I think I won some battles and lost the war; however the clients have got the garden they really want and that is the true winner.

I have two significant events coming up in October and November (more to follow later in the month). The first event is with the Banyule Open Studios, this is where basically artists across Banyule open there Studio to the public. I will open my design studio and garden as a part of this event this coming weekend Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 10AM to 5PM. The event is free. This is the first year a Garden Designer has been involved and the first time I have opened my garden to the public.

I recently completed this front Garden in Ivanhoe, quite challenging due to the size and how exposed the front of block is. The main aspects of brief, were to create natural barriers, improved access to property and to fit in with the existing building. The in ground lighting is something special to see at night.

When I started using Facebook, it was supposed to be a timeline of the gardens I have built. Unfortunately or fortunately, I have had so many garden projects; I stopped posting. So he's a sample of some of the gardens I have built. I will endeavour not to wait 2+ years before next post, although I can't promise.

I have been involved in Community Gardens for most of my time in Australia, if I had to give a simple reason why? Its in the title Community and Gardens. I have been fortunate to have had several rolls Treasurer, President, Coordinator and in late 2019 I designed my first Community Garden (Bellfield Community Garden no.2 Perkins Avenue). In April 2022, the fruition of many, many hours will come to completion. I firmly believe we will have one of the premium built community gardens in Victoria and Australia.

So just shy of a year since I last posted, here is morLandscapes latest project and a rare opportunity. The garden in Northcote can be bought freshly completed, it even comes with a fantastic house on George Street. Look out for forthcoming auction.
