Trying not to get stabbed by box thorn, um, thorns, is our main OHS risk out here.

Felt great to be back at the Sanctuary at Coobowie for a few days hard work, cut and swab any box thorn reshoots found. About 60 total in 3 zones so far.

I'll be back soon. Really starting to feel my power coming back. Should have come back to Narungga country sooner.

Today's garden casualty :( - poor wee tonka!

Usually I'd rather share our site supervisor photos (eg. Chickens, puppies, kitties) but this did make me giggle when I pulled some w**ds today.

Pulling back mulch, digging out invasive grasses and bind w**d first. Much deeper digging to go! Then soil wetter, split some lillies, cardboard surrounding and water down, mulch back in.

We can do it!

Days rapidly getting shorter now. What winter veg will you plant??

Again I am little quiet whilst I regroup from the over half a year of pure hell my street endured with the crazy neighbours.

I am still getting used to it being quiet again.

It means I can work in my own garden in peace again. Lovely rainfall in the past week and many of my natives kicking along swimmingly.

Also the Fartichokes *hehe* have got so tall but not really flowered this season. May have shaded them in I suppose, they are reaching for the sky!

Will certainly be sharing lillies again!

I will update pricing and schedule, plus services before long.

Have a wonderful week all. X

I absolutely adore this fellow plant nerd fighting the good fight in the US. With an entire push to and educate about the importance of indigenous species to your area, he's me with tattoos and the occasional bout of potty mouth ;)

Enjoy!

Asparagus fern is followong me for sure... you'll see it here in the top of the hibiscus. It climbs with it's long strands, forms in clumps underground that really really grip, and can just spread so quickly.

I'm told these have been around for years and years. Time to go!!

Know your declared plants, even if uou just learn a couple common ones to go spotting in your community. Every little report helps!

Have a good day all.

Many blessings and a happy new year to all.

A sincere thank you to all that allowed me into their garden space throughout 2025. It was quite challenging with both parents going through cancer treatments, and the horrific neighbours thar my street has endured since June. (Still not evicted).

I have been lucky to be house sitting in the hills over these heatwave days, for some rest and recouperation, admin, and many episodes of NewsRoom. (Also when your friend says yes yes you CAN kill that declared asparagus fern for me! Wahoo!)

I trust that you will have an excellent 2026, with new things learned, new music and art discovered, maybe a new tree that needs your care, and connection to your community.

When it's not AdeHades, I'm available to help

Sincere gratitude to all who have gardened with me or allowed me to work in their space in the past few weeks. Putting our hands in the dirt is good therapy indeed.

Unfortunately still culling, packing, ready to leave my patch as soon as an option presents itself. The neighbour situation continues to get worse (somehow that is possible) amd eviction did not occur last weekend. None of us understand how this is allowed to continue. Sigh.

Wishing everyone a well deserved break, peace and relaxation, however you celebrate. X
