Reminder Brisbane friends, this Saturday we’re opening the workshop and offering a collection of one off concrete tables, terrazzo experiments, prototypes and seconds from the Five Mile Radius workshop.

Expect colourful terrazzo mixes, experimental concrete furniture, one-off oxide finishes and pieces that never made it into production.

Many items are prototypes, discontinued designs or material experiments. Some may have minor chips, patches, air pockets, colour variation or other imperfections. We think these marks are part of the story. Each piece is completely unique.

“When the coastal Banksia are in bloom, we know eel are coming.”

Created for the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment, this work was developed with artist Jody Rallah — a Yuggera-Yuggerabul and Biri-Bindal artist from Magandjin / Brisbane.

Together we translated Jody’s artwork exploring the life cycle and migration of the short-finned eel into terrazzo using reclaimed concrete and waste aggregates cast in our Brisbane workshop. The work speaks to resilience, transformation and the eel’s journey between saltwater and freshwater across generations.

Reasons we love our endemic hoop pine 💫

– FSC-certified, so the forests it comes from are actually sustainably managed

– sourced through a local supplier (hi ), so we can properly understand its supply chain

– relatively economical, which matters when you’re making things at scale

– lightweight, buttery soft on the tools, and honestly just nice to work with

– and our fave… its a true Queensland native, endemic to this place
