We’re specialising in new houses only now having recently sold our industrial and commercial client base. This has always been my passion and our team love bringing their extensive experience to each project.

Rufus Design Group is a leading provider of custom-designed residential, commercial and industrial projects servicing Central Queensland and beyond. We pride ourselves on being customer-focused, innovative and providing design excellence across Central Queensland since 1980.

The successful applicant will enjoy a relaxed but efficient work environment, have at least 5 years of experience and be systematic in their approach. They will also be outgoing with a friendly and engaging personality and customer-focused. Interest in houses, house design or knowledge of construction generally would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities:
• Provide admin support to our team of Home Designers.
• Enter and update data about projects as they evolve.
• Handle incoming and outgoing project-related correspondence.
• Set up and maintain project files per established procedures.
• Research products, assist with spec writing and calling tenders.
• Liaise with Councils, consultants and clients as required.
• Assist with spec writing and calling tenders (with training).

The position is initially part-time (approx. 3 days per week) with increased hours as new skills are learnt. The role could potentially be full-time depending on aptitude, and periods of full-time work will be required when senior staff is on leave.

We are ready to find the perfect Administrative Assistant to join our team. With your high energy level and enthusiasm for home design, you will work to prepare, process, and track project-related documents for current and future projects.

Rufus Design Group is a leading provider of custom-designed residential, commercial and industrial projects servicing Rockhampton, Yeppoon, and the wider Central Queensland region. We pride ourselves on being customer-focused and innovative, providing design excellence across Central Queensland since 1980.

Though you don’t have to have experience in this field, you should be flexible, cooperative, and a quick learner with the ability to efficiently multi-task. If you’re friendly and believe in being a team player, this could be a great opportunity as an admin assistant in our Elphinstone Street office.

You will be motivated, personable and passionate about working with people and have a keen interest in home design. Ideally, we seek applicants who have previously worked for an interior decorator, builder or trade business, however if you have excellent administration skills and a keen interest in learning more about home design, we’d love to hear from you. This position will commence part-time initially and move to full-time hours.

Responsibilities:
👉 Provide admin support to our team of Designers
👉 Create and maintain project spreadsheets in collaboration with Project Managers
👉 Handle incoming and outgoing project-related correspondence
👉 Set up and maintain project files per established procedures
👉 Provide and coordinate client presentation materials using MS Office
👉 Research products for inclusion in our house designs

Qualifications:
👉 Minimum 2-3 years of mid-level administrative experience in a professional office environment
👉 Able to work independently and efficiently while maintaining good working relationships with many people and staying abreast of daily work requirements
👉 Meticulous organisational and filing skills
👉 Ability to work in multiple computer programs simultaneously
👉 Knowledge of building or design terminology will be highly regarded
