I had a little issue today from someone never seeing my Van at their house before, easy fix once they seen me in person,

"Hex the Ute" is on sick leave with another key/ immobiliser issue, which i may have a solution for tomorrow or Friday day maybe

So Candy Van (normally used for amenities cleaning) is stepping up to drag the mowing trailer around.

Candy is white with pink strips and pink wheels just like a Candy canes or volunteer Candy girls in USA Hospitals around it has has the same signage as Hex the ute and Trailers

Both cars should be on contracts at properties with security,
However with police called on me ,to laugh at the call out, two weeks ago, I am posting this just encase someone has the same issue again

Due to the extra dry conditions i have a lot of Cancelations this week, this may cause an issue with some bookings next week and i may need to move some Monday jobs to Tuesday
i'll let you know

i just want to mention The Fitzroy has over 23 years of water supply in it for Rockhampton we do not have water restrictions so do not be afaid to turn a sprinkler on for 15 minutes a week

I have got the new Toro Revolution e-Trimmer this week
as the next step towards full E-mowing

So if you hear some weird noises out side it is most liely just the almost silent machines circumcising your grass

I keep getting asked why I have changed to battery operated moweng..
The main answer is contracts, a lot of my contracts like child care centres and Businesses and shopping centres have asked for more environmentally and noise reduced mowing, It is part of the government incentive
and a lot of mower (machine) suppliers are going battery like Honda has already stopped petrol mowers production,

Battery Equipment is so much easier to use, as it is just put battery in and go, some things are lighter though my battery powered toro trimmer weighs more then my two stroke one does,
they are less maintenance, also I charge a lot of them with solar on board in car and on trailer and the main seller is over all cheaper to run (even though set up is a lot higher in cost at start)
other then car fuel i have used less then 5 litres since February (it is now May)

People may have noticed I have had battery
chainsaws, polesaws, secateurs, blows, sweepers . drills , lighting etc from starting up in 2020
so it is not that much of a jump to me to use a battery mower

Sadly I have not got the pressure-washing (as it is hard to find a powerful battery one yet) cleaning side of business to battery yet, but i can use a electrical plug in one if noise is an issue, and use no powered cleaning equipment in Amenities

Lawn is Slowly recovering after the builders ripped up cement and other things in renovations
Making it very hard to mow around their fence
House looks awesome so hopefully lawn get better soon
New tenants in other house hopefully will have both places looking great again,

We are slowly nervously moving the Mowing side of our business over to battery machines for our every day use,

This is a lot more then just changing a lawn mower, but it is all we are doing at first.

the difficulties will be setting up battery charging off vehicle solar and depot power, safe & secure storage of spare batteries and the range anxiety that will come at first before we afford the batteries needed

Mainly due to budget we will be implementing this is stages over next few months Learning as we go,

Starting soon
on our smaller /less mowing days with just the mower at first,
working out the true range and how many batteries is realistically needed in the full commercial day,
After this trail we hope to move forward to better reliable range with Toro and eventually replacing the 2 stroke whippersnippers brush cutters with battery revolution toro line trimmers, but that is another way bigger step in cost and equipment and again range anxierty

Since the beginning a few years ago now, we have been using a lot of Ryobi tools from pole saws, pole hedges, hedge trimers, chain saws, blowers , drills etc etc so we are half way to being electric already and currently Toro doo not have these tools available in Australia so we will keep using these for now

As a customer of Zara's this will not effect you very much, if at all, as we will still be using the 10 horse power self propelled mowers on bigger days and as back up when we get this going fully electric anyway


So why bother going to electric / battery operated machines
Zara is trying to future prove our business,
contracts are demanding it,
there is a lot of pressure in some communities to not have petrol powered mowers in their area,
some areas it is for the noise,
some for environment ,
some for fire risk,

but they are also a lot easier to use ( no pull starts and waiting for warm up)
over all cost, is about the same to run over months even though it is about 4-5 times the cost at purchase the equipment

This Change is a bit easier for Zara;s lawns and Garden then other's to do,
as we use mid range equipment with walk behind self propelled toro 30 inch lawn mowers which have a straight over comparison battery mower to replace it with,
our difficulties is the range and recharging batteries

no ones lawn is that urgent,
