It's a passion of mine doing Echeveria hybridising.
These are my favourite so far, about 4 years old.
No names to them,
I'm working on making a true blue Echeveria.

Hello everyone,
We've been asked a few times now when will my plant go dormant.
Well to answer that, some varieties go dormant in Winter & while others go dormant in Summer.
So we've put a list together to help you out.
With each variety we found examples of the plant with a link to view for those who need a visual reference.

》》》SUMMER GROWERS γ€Šγ€Šγ€Š
》》》 (Winter Dormant) γ€Šγ€Šγ€Š
》》》GROWING MONTHS γ€Šγ€Šγ€Š
》》》(September β€” April) γ€Šγ€Šγ€Š
》》》DORMANT MONTHSγ€Šγ€Šγ€Š
》》》 (May β€” August) γ€Šγ€Šγ€Š

Their primary growth actually occurs Spring & Autumn while slowing considerably, even to a stop during the true cooler months of Winter.
Many will show minimal growth during the Summer months, especially in the Crassulaceae families.

Hello to all our fantastic followers.

UPDATE
So all our Cacti & Succulents have entered their dormant stage, so we're in full maintaince mode.
Meaning changing our hothouse covers, when we've done the covers our propagation systems will be in full swing.

When we come back which is looking like the month of August, this is when in Sydney our plants will be starting to come out of their dormancy.

Our Facebook sales day will be changing to a Thursday for our online sales.

Will be having Saturday sales from Seven Hills. This will be happening on the first & third Saturday of each month.
You can find us on Google maps, just look for Needle Juicy.

Will be heading to the markets on every first & third Sunday of the month.
Stay tuned to which markets we'll be having a stall at. Will be changing from market to market.

We are truly excited & scared at the same time(a good scared).

We would like to thank you, our fantastic members for the loving support & encouragement to develop & spread the word of our quality cactus & succulent collection.

Care information for

Botanical name: Sedum morganianum

Common name: Donkey's tail

Origin: Southern Mexico

Height/Spread: 10cms or less as it starts to bend, which can grow as long as 60cms or as long as the stem can handle the weight.

Exposure: Grows well outside or indoors, in very good light but not extreme heat. The plant is best grown in full morning sunlight for at least 6 hours for strong growth and to enhance leaf coloration.

Water needs: It requires regular, moderate watering all year, depending on your situation, get into the habit of checking the soil to make sure it has become dry before watering, winter is another story, when it should be infrequently watered as the colder weather will evaporate & the plant will be in a dormant state, therefore will use significantly less water. Excess water can damage the plant in a very short period of time. Watering from the top will be fine as long as the foliage is dry by night fall. If not dry just blow the water off. This can be done by you blowing or there are specially made puffers to blow the water off.

Soil pH: 6.0 to 7.5 which means a slightly acidic soil to neutral.

Soil mix: Must be in a well draining soil. Now this plant doesn't mind a little organic matter in the soil.
You could use a low grade potting mix & washed course river sand to add to the drainage.

Tolerance: With a minimum temperature of 5–7 Β°C (41–45 Β°F), if temperatures reach below these temperatures for over 5 days your plant will become damaged or worse it may die.
If you live in an area that will fall below these temperatures, has frost or snow, these plants make for a great indoor plant. Place in a bright area out of direct sunlight through the window as this could magnify sunlight to burn foliage.

What we did for our mums for Mother's Day.

Couldn't post these before giving them to mum & mum in-law, now they have them I can post them.
So the pot if you don’t recognise it is a Bonsai pot, some white decorative rock along with some of our tube stock.
I think they came out looking fantastic.

Found a wasp nest in a May bush in our residential garden. That is not near where we walk or garden on a regular basis.
Question is do I remove them or let them stay?
Definitely let them stay.
WHY?
Well these are beneficial insects that help you with any insect pest problems that may occur in your cactus or succulent garden.
WHICH INSECTS?
Australian wasps are beneficial to the environment as they control spider, aphid & caterpillar populations and other pest insects. They are also pollinators of native plants along with your flowering cacti & succulents.

These wasps are not aggressive at all. They'll protect their nest tho if disturbed.
