Lachlan started his glazing career in 2002, completing an apprenticeship in 2002-2006, he completed his studies at Holmesglen Tafe, Chadstone. After travelling the world extensively, living in Vancouver, Canada & Oxford, England repairing the glass of famous universities in Oxford England and building his own glazing company, Lachlan re

turned to Australia. In his spare time, Lachlan is an active member of the community, volunteering his time for some community-based programs. Recently, we removed single-pane glass from an existing timber window and upgraded it to double-glazed units (commonly known as IGUs) filled with argon gas. Best of all, we were able to retain the original timber frames, saving thousands of dollars compared to a full window replacement.

Many people don’t realise this upgrade can be done with existing timber windows — and even some types of aluminium windows. The benefits of IGUs include improved energy efficiency, better insulation, and significant noise reduction.

Just installed this custom 10mm Low Iron Reeded Safety Glass panel featuring a 450mm radius corner. This glass isn’t stock standard — it was custom cut and toughened right here in Melbourne, proudly supporting local businesses.

The brushed nickel wall brackets really complement the overall finish. I thoroughly enjoyed installing this panel and am really happy with how it turned out.

Also replaced a mirror on a cabinet door — something many people don’t realise can actually be done.

10mm Clear Safety Glass with Bronze Hardware. The 90 degree corner silicone butt join was rather enjoyable, it has been years since this skills has been available to use. The secret is to make sure you square up the butt join and use excessive amounts of silicone so that when you squeeze the glass panels together you avoid air bubbles.

Mirrors – Recently completed a mirror installation in an apartment in South Yarra. The project presented several challenges, including precise cut-outs for the kitchen’s electrical switchboard, as well as power point and light switch cut-outs in the lounge area. In addition, the floors, walls, and ceilings were not level, adding further complexity. With no lift access, each mirror also had to be carefully carried up a tight staircase with minimal clearance.

Despite these challenges, the final result was excellent, and both the client and I were extremely pleased with the outcome.
