πΌ I asked my mini helper to pick just ONE tray from the hothouse to show everyone what's coming for spring...
Well... he chose Marigolds! πΌ
I think he was more excited about showing off his cheeky smile than the seedlings. π
These little guys are only just getting started but they'll be ready for your gardens around September.
Why marigolds?
They've been a favourite companion plant in veggie gardens for years. It's long been said they can help reduce root nematodes in the soil when grown amongst vegetables, while above the ground they attract pollinators and beneficial insects... and let's be honest, those bold colours make the veggie patch look pretty special too.
There are three main types of marigolds.
πΌ French Marigolds
These are the ones I grow. They stay nice and compact, making them perfect for veggie gardens, pots and smaller spaces where every bit of growing room counts.
Current varieties growing include:
πΌ Red Cherry
πΌ Solan
πΌ Mr Majestic ...and a few more still to come.
πΌ Passionfruit Marigold A much larger plant that does the same job as the French type just lager size and masses of flowers.
This one will be available this season too
πΌ African Marigolds These grow much larger and suit bigger garden spaces. I don't have these available at this stage.
It's only the beginning... there are lots more trays quietly waking up on the heat mats. π±
Which one will u choose?
And what will mini helper pick next off the mats?
Have a great day
