Yes Cherie works there but one of my daughters also worked in oncology and I I know many including a close mate who finished his treatment at GV Health last week.

Hi everyone! Just a quick update to let you know that Windscreen Savers are currently taking a well-earned break in Vietnam and will be back on deck Monday 4th August.

We had set up a message on our phone, but unfortunately, it didn’t go through 😅 — our apologies if you’ve tried to reach us!

Yes I know there are people who would swap with me in a heartbeat, however I’m a bit over the last 2 1/2years 😠

I remember struggling as I went stale with my business maybe 15 years ago (I’ve now fitted windscreens for 35 years and had the business for 23)

I shifted my thinking back then from “who even cares who fits your windscreen?”

To

“I’m going to give the best service and take all the hassle out of this transaction that most people don’t care about!”

Apart from my body dealing with…
Myocarditis
Atrial Fibrillation x 2
Ablation
Cardiomyopathy
Kidney function crashing (I’ve got it back up)
High Potassium levels (got them down)
Haemoglobin levels keep rising, currently 204 (healthy range 130 to 170)
Iron levels 40.4 (healthy range 11.6 to 31.3)

My head has been dealing with not being able to give the service I pride myself with in our business.

Gone through big patches over the last 2 1/2 years where I can’t get through a whole day before fatigue kicks in and I crash and I mean crash, not just a nap.
Can’t answer phone calls and can’t return phone calls as I’m cooked.

Been very frustrating, both physically and mentally.

I’m glad I have so many tools in my tool belt to deal with all of this.

Big shout out to the amazing coaches I’ve worked with and a HUGE shout out to all the amazing staff at Healthy Mind Solutions Shepparton,
especially Mady who gets me back on track for the week every Tuesday 🙏🏽

So Scott and Windscreen Savers are still going, I’m trying to pump 3/4 of a day out in half a day before the fatigue kicks in, I’m slowly learning how to work within what’s happening at the moment.

Have a specialist appointment in 4 weeks so I’ll get this blood and iron levels fixed shortly and I’ll be back up and running back at 100%

I wanted an easy read while away on holidays and walked into the book shop in Cairns and spotted this book that I have never seen before 📕

I picked it up and realised it was about Cherie’s favourite gin 🍸

I decided to buy it as I thought reading about a successful business would be an easy read.

Boy was I wrong 🤯

It is super easy super to read but not an easy read.

The author Matt Jones challenged a lot of my thinking about business from the structure of it to what marketing actually is along with so much more 🤔

It’s going to take me awhile to get through this book ⏰

Part of me wants to read it from start to finish but with so many lessons through amazing stories, he also breaks it down and asked key questions that I have decided to work through in a note book 📝

I’m guessing I have brought over 20 business and personal development books this year and if I could buy just one it would be this book 📚

Highly recommend checking this book out whether you have an established business or you are thinking about starting up 🙌🏽

To be honest, with a few health issues I’ve been focusing on over the last 18 months, along with a few personal challenges, I have gone stale after running Windscreen Savers for the last 23 years 😔

This book has made me excited about our business again 😛

I can’t wait to get home and serve our long time customers with the service I pride myself on in the past, while pretty much restarting the business by answering and working through the questions Matt asks in his book 🤓

Thank you Matt Jones for taking the time to share both your experiences and your knowledge, I have a feeling it’s going to be life changing/business changing 🙏🏽

This has happened to me once before in 35 years of fitting windscreens 🤦🏼‍♂️

The customers keys were on the front seat of the car and when I bumped the door half closed the car locked 🔒

Luckily it was before I fitted the new windscreen 😮‍💨

This is not a post about windscreens but it’s one I think is so important so I’m sharing it here

Finally out and home 🏡

1st up I want to say all the the staff at the Private hospital 🏥 were nothing short of amazing, so professional but so warm and caring at the same time.
Absolutely brilliant experience from (in order from seeing them) receptionist, nurses, anthesis and surgeon 🙏🏽

It took me a long time to wake up and I’m not sure if that was because when I was asked how I go with being knocked out I said last time I work up a bit punchy, so maybe they gave me a double dose.
I was sort of expecting to be tided to the bed when I woke 🥊 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Outcome

Had serval polyps removed from the gastroscopy and biopsies taken.
Have a hernia 40cm down in my oesophagus.

Other end more polyps removed and biopsies take.

Insides a little tender but I’m looking forward to dinner (I think) and a good sleep before getting back into the van tomorrow to fit some windscreens 🚐

Decided to post this little part of my journey to show not only how easy the process is from doing the Bowel Cancer test to the follow up if needed.

I didn’t do my 50 year old Bowel Test ❌

Not because I didn’t want to, I just put it aside and said I’ll do it when I get a chance and by the time I remembered it was out of date and I couldn’t be bothered chasing anothe one up.

When I got my 52 year old one Cherie put it under my pillow one weekend she went away and left a not basically saying, do this test as I want to grow old with you ❤️

So this post isn’t about me or what they found or didn’t find, but I do appreciate the love 🫶🏽

This post is, don’t be like 50 year old Scott 🤡

Instead be like 52 year old Scott and do the test as not only is it easy, it’s important 🦸‍♂️

Ohh, what a year 2023 has been.

In our 22 years of operating we have dealt with floods, fire, thieves, pandemic, injuries and this year has been the most challenging by a long shot.

The main reason this year was so challenging is that Windscreen Savers prides its self on the quality of service it has provided for the last 22 years, and I know how far off the standard I was this year 😔.

No excuses as looking back even with all the challenges I know I could of done better.

I’m looking forward to a short break and resetting and coming back on the 2/1/2024 with some even better standards than I have had in the business in the past.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all my family as they always provide so much moral support but many of them stepped in and provided physically this year when I couldn’t and I was struggling health wise.

I want to give a special shout out to Jake who came to help out for several weeks and did all the work with me as his apprentice 🙏🏽

Without him the business would of gone close to shutting for a month or so.

Thank you to all of you who have supported us in anyway from using our services to telling someone about us, we appreciate you and your support more than you will ever know 💖.

We hope you had a wonderful Xmas and wishing you a Wonderful New Year and can’t wait to see you in 2024.
