Aren't the colours amazing hhis year? Yesterday, the garden work was quite overwhelming, too much for just one person. I started weeding the flower gardens and I think my family was inspired to help because by the end of the day the 5 of us made a big impact. When you have a business where you spend so much time making other people's gardens pretty, it's nice to get to your own sometimes.

I feel a little privileged this week, as I was the lucky first to receive some of these amazing new Rudbeckia plants from the USA, just becoming available through the amazing perennial nursery . The flowers are huge and a cross between a Rudbeckia and Echinacea. The lovely Sonja from Cameron's, really got me stepping out of my colour comfort zone with these, but mixed with these gorgeous Fairy Dust Euphorbia and yellow Magic Carpet Mecardonia, I'm loving them. Keep an eye out at your local nursery or Bunnings store for them.

Our little Pump House got a Christmas make-over. Had been wanting to pay this area attention for a while now. Got some stunning Perovskia (Little Spires Russian Sage) from at Arcadia, my favourite nursery ever. The Daisy Mays in front were also from Camerons. (Available in most Bunnings stores).

I'm so excited to see my hydrangeas have doubled in size and so have some of the flower heads. Daisy May's are looking pretty spectacular too. Planted a few new standard roses too.

Our new vege garden, chook pen and cut flower garden are coming along. Indi is planting her Dahlias hoping for a good crop to sell. The roses smell gorgeous. This one is 'My Hero'.

So the tulips this year are shorter than usual...I don't know why? Maybe not enough sunshine? But the colours are just beautiful! Gardens wet...but colours are vibrant. Raking and blowing the leaves and doing the edges....that's another story....;)

My favourite nursery, Cameron's Nursery has a stall on Arcadia Rd and you can pick up some gorgeous colour, cheap! You won't be able to stop at just 1 plant. I usually fill the car and the kids laps.

Okay, so I'm not calling these tulips (called Queenslander) a total fail, cos although short, they are extremely pretty. The colour is amazing but they are just not suitable for the sunny spot we put them in. I have some planted in the shadier spots of the garden but they aren't quite up yet. We'll see what happens in a few weeks.

Spring is in full swing. There's some stunning new Gerberas on the market this year.
