A home for a family on the site that they have lived on for 15 years. We used a Double-Halo device to house fittings for shading and cooling the home.

2024 Gold Coast House of the Year!

Congratulations to the Havendeen team on the outstanding success of PALA! Beautifully built, it was a privilege to be the architects for this wonderful home.

At the recent Master Builders Awards Gold Coast, PALA was awarded: Best Kitchen, Best Pool, Best House $5-10million and the prestigious award of Gold Coast House of the Year.

Looking forward to attending the Master Builders Queensland State Awards tomorrow night with Havendeen

Honoured to receive a Regional Commendation for PALA in the Residential Architecture-Houses (New) category at the Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Regional Awards. Excited to now progress to the Queensland State Awards.

Jury words:
The PALA Residence is a four-level home that makes a big, bold statement, and yet sits unassumingly in the streetscape. From the moment you enter, it’s a journey of discovery through choreographed spaces crafted to optimise the wide water aspect. Striking, yet fully functional, the drama of the site is skilfully framed and captured, creating a sequence of seductive spaces and views. The drama of the site is beautifully balanced with practicalities that make it a comfortable family home.

Great to be on the panel for for the release of the and the resulting 7 modern home looks to be released.
It has been a long held mission of mine to encourage Australians to demand more from our industry in regards to home. By doing this research and articulating these exterior looks it makes a contribution to the language enabling people to ask for what they actually want, rather than accepting what they are given.
Big thanks to host and fellow panelists and senior economist Tim Devitt for the excellent discussion which was live-streamed around the country.
