As an important component of Zhengdong New District’s public amenities, the Dragon Lake Public Art Center will be used to showcase urban planning initiatives and exhibitions in the short term, and as a public art center in the long run. Its program will allow for easy access to works of art of the highest excellence, as well hosting lively and engaging activities for all visitors.

Taken together with the surrounding public spaces, the Center will provide the city with a waterfront area rich with vitality – and will allow visitors to climb up and enjoy an overall view of the new development, engage with each other, and truly make their waterfront experience a memorable one.

The local studio drew on the hexagonal plan of the original 1980s home to create the minimal, linear form of Salt Point Residence, with 185 square metres providing space for two new en-suite bedrooms around a central living room.

Located on a site where Chandrashekar had already been practising organic farming, the 487-square-metre house was designed around a desire to create a connection with nature.

Living spaces are either fully open, or able to be opened up with the use of sliding and folding shutters. Some rooms are also elevated to take full advantage of the impressive views.
