Landcscaping

Before and After, the backyard of my first house.
I kid you not, I did this all by hand, single handed.

In hindsight, a digger would not have been a bad idea..

House painting.

A ‘before and after’ snap of the lounge of my first house (prior to the sparky moving the Tv cord).
We cleaned, sanded and painted throughout, ceiling, walls, doors, frames, skirting and trim over the course of a couple weeks with only 2 sets of hands.

Commercial/industrial painting

Before I left Tassie, I was running a couple of gyms on the North West Coast.
One of my last jobs was to paint and fit it this lifting space in 120m2 garage of one of the gyms.

It only took around 16 hours in total, paint, floors, platforms and equipment moved in, time was of the essence!

Recycled Chicken Coop

I built this chicken coop out of primarily recycled materials in about 6 hours at our hobby farm in Tassie.

All that was paid for was the pine posts, quick-set concrete and heavy gauge chicken wire.
The sheets of iron, framing timber, screws etc were all recycled from bits and pieces around the property saving $$$.

Complete with laying boxes (old cabinetry) with easy access from the side, a full sized hardwood door at rear for human access to clean the raised floors and silver sheet to assist water proofing where the recycled iron sheets had holes.

Recycled butchers block

Another “throw together” project made from wood laying around in the shed (plus some trolley wheels from Bunnings) from a few years back.
I threw this together, including painting the legs and oiling the top in about 2 hours.

I regret not making the joins to a better standard but I didn’t have the required tools at the time, Hardly a piece of master joinery but it served its purpose at a next-to-nothing cost.

Raised Garden beds

I basically landscaped the whole backyard of my first house by hand, breaking and disposing of the concrete paths, shifting rock edging, tearing out bushes and moving tonnes and tonnes of dirt.

The best part of this backyard were the 3 raised beds (composting heap to the left) 2400 x 1200 x 450 high.
Perfect height and size for all the seasonal vegetables at any given time.

The whole time I remained there after, the grass never got a chance to really come through with the dogs running around, even with seeding, isolating strips etc

Children’s play area

I knocked up this play area in one of the gyms I used to own a share of, it took me about 3 hours.

I recycled some old framing timber (sanded back and painted to prevent splinters) for the sides and used pool fencing for the front including the gate.

** the metal brace you can see at the bottom right was taken out once I had the gate squared to latch properly.
