Skilled Hands is a new enterprise that has recently been launched by long-time Strathalbyn local Shane Bullivant and his wife Leah. With his combination of trade qualifications, 30 years experience in both domestic and commercial settings, and exceptional old-fashioned customer service, Shane delivers peace of mind by taking care of all those outstanding jobs quickly, skilfully and with a minimum of fuss. Shane is a familiar face to many around the district, having grown up and lived for most of his life in Strathalbyn. He and Leah still live in Strath with their two boys, and part of the reason they have taken this new direction is that it allows him to stay local, help others and give a bit back to their community. Those who know him, know Shane’s reputation for honesty, integrity and reliability, all of which he puts front and centre in the running of his business. He is a professional qualified gas fitter and plumber with three decades’ experience under his belt, including the design and management of major projects, both locally and interstate, across a diverse range of trades. Shane is also fully trained in first aid, has his ‘white card’ accreditation and carries national Police clearances to work with children and the elderly, meaning our most vulnerable community members are not only in Skilled Hands, but safe ones too. But most importantly, Shane is a down-to-earth, humble bloke with a strong country work ethic and he approaches every task with a positive, professional attitude. This means that no maintenance or home assistance project is too small, whether it’s providing advice on the design and upkeep of your solar voltaic system, unloading and stacking a load of firewood, hanging a door or installing a new gas barbeque out the back. At Skilled Hands we take pride in providing old fashioned customer service. It’s all about the people for us!

Shane and Leah Bullivant established Skilled Hands in Strathalbyn in 2016 with the goal to provide quality trades, value for money and excellent customer service. Shane is a Master Gas Fitter with 30+ years of gas and plumbing industry experience. His skill set includes specialisation in gas fitting in both residential and commercial settings along with specialist knowledge in design and installation. Having experience with Origin Energy as State Installation Manager and Solar Design Manager at Stratco covering 10 years, along with operating a small business in his early career for 17 years, equips Shane with a unique skill set. His gas, plumbing and maintenance expertise along with well-honed problem solving skills see him working across the Adelaide Hills, Strathalbyn and Fleurieu Peninsula regions.

At Skilled Hands we believe in doing what we say we will do, arriving on time and not charging ‘an arm and a leg’ for services. We communicate regularly with our clients, provide quick and reliable service, are respectful to your home and premise by leaving it clean and tidy. Shane and Leah’s strengths in business are their ability to problem solve, respond to clients’ needs and have established long standing professional partnerships with local businesses.
