A bit about RB's Gardens- who we are, where we come from: we are a husband and wife team in our 30s, with a 2 year old son.

Raj does the Gardening/Landscape extraordainaire and grew up on his family farm in the Himalayas (Nepal) where they were fully self-sustainable and he has a wealth of knowledge around growing food, looking after plants, fixing things and hard work.

Katie is from Brisbane and has worked in youth development for 12 years, and is studying a Bachelor in Social Work and does all the administration, book keeping and marketing for Rb's.

We are relatively new to Macleay, settling here in February 2020 just before the pandemic hit but have been to and from the Island since 2010 when family members moved here and have watched the Island grow over the years.

We hope to be able to provide a quality service to the islands at affordable prices. We do it all- lawn mowing, trimming, green waste removal, garden beds, planting, gutters, weeding- you name it.

We strive to do the best job and have a ABN and public liability insurance, and support many people on the Island already who have NDIS, Aged Care or Work Cover.

Our family loves living on the Island, the peacefulness away from the rat race and think its a great place to raise children. This is why we started a business here so we can set down roots.

As you can imagine, weather has not been good for business lately. 🍃 Looking after your Garden after heavy Rain?
Dealing with soggy and waterlogged beds?

🍃 Gardens generally love rain, but you might find parts of your garden are still waterlogged or soggy after the recent weather. When soil doesn't drain properly, plants can't get oxygen and nutrients from the soil, which makes them weaker and more vulnerable to disease. The first step is to remove the excess water!

🍃 If you have a wet, soggy patch that won't drain at all, you could try adding sand and soil to help absorb the moisture and another tip is to add organic matter like compost into the soil to help with aeration and drainage.
