We adopted a couple of new family members today. This is Mabel and she is cuteness overload! The chickens have paid her no heed however Teddy is finding it very hard to understand that Mabel is not a toy he has been gifted!

Every morning the chooks come up onto the deck to say hello. Teddy of course has to be involved. And, when I am outside the chooks and Teddy all hang around together. They are very cute!

The girls are giving us lots of eggs at the moment so along with giving a few to neighbours, I’m baking!

This week I set about making meringues which is a regular baking item in our house. For the first time ever they failed! I was completely perplexed because in years of baking, the egg whites have never fallen on me until this week. So, I made the egg whites into white cake in cup cake form, filled them with lemon curd and butter cream and took them into work! I think that was a good save!

Spring has sprung and I am hustling to relocate strawberries. 🍓 So I was in the garden this morning for a quick hour before I get into the work day to plant a couple of new purchases and relocate strawberries. Not so quick when you have willing helpers! They do make my heart warm. Lovely start to the week. ❤️

My dahlias are blooming! I’ve never grown them before and they are just so pretty. They suddenly got very tall and unfortunately a couple fell over so I had to pick a lot of the flowers, but they are just beautiful around the house! They are bringing me a lot of joy!
