“We share a lot here — how to grow these plants at home, how they’ve been used for generations, what’s happening on Country. But we want to make more of what you actually want to see. So I’m asking you straight: what do you want more of from us? Plant guides? Recipes? The stories behind the work? Drop it in the comments — we read every one, and we’ll build from there.”

Last month, our team at Burdekin took part in cultural training with Bush to Bowl.

The session deepened our understanding of how to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in respectful, trauma-informed ways, exploring identity, connection, and how culture can be meaningfully embedded into everyday practice.

We also gained valuable insight into local networks and resources to better support young people’s cultural identity.

We’re proud to continue learning, listening and strengthening the way we support young people - together.

In 2021, we were building a greenhouse out of other people’s rubbish in a local public school. We didn’t have much, but we had a want to relearn our food story and connect back to Country.

Seeing the truck packed for today is a “pinch me” moment. It’s more than just plants—it’s about our Culture reaching new backyards.

Thanks for being part of the journey and for believing in us.
