RIP Jonathon Coleman

Earlier today I heard the news that radio and TV broadcaster and funny man Jonathon Coleman passed away. I remember Jonathon from his long time televison and radio work. His original appearance was on Simon Townsends Wonderworld back in the 80’s and then he struck up the long time relationship with the other half of Jono and Danno, Ian Rogerson. His career took him to UK radio for 16 or so years and then he returned to Australia where more recently was part of the Studio 10 team.He was recognised with an OAM for his contribution to broadcasting and charity.

I have had the chance to meet and spend time with Jono on quite a few occassions over the last decade or so at fund raisers and more recently having been invited onto Studio 10 for Op Shop Week, The Logies and a few other chats. The most recent catchup was at the Auburn Botanic Gardens where Jono came out as the intrepid reporter to chat about the Cherry Blossom Festival Auburn's Botanic Gardens.

There is one thing that goes without saying, he brought a smile in everything he did. Finding the photo just now it seems like only yesterday and it is definitely a life lost too young after a 4 year health battle. Thoughts and love to his wife Margot and family at this very sad time.

Thanks for the memories and for the happiness you shared Jono. Gee up and go well. And I forgot to mention how awesome your chilli shirt is Jono. I love it
