Introducing our Double Bay Residential project with GSA planning. We are very proud of the work, commitment and outcome we achieved to amendment the planning controls that apply to the site by increasing the height of buildings from 13.5m to 22m, and the FSR from 1.3:1 to 2.6:1.

This Canberra structure was given a new lease of life, it was converted into a modern, functional, commercial building and required a stand-out 'face-lift' which was achieved through a new vibrant colour palette that gave it an identity and breathed life back into the building.

This project reflects its contextual appreciation through an interpretative response to its natural environment. This contemporary residence has a modern form that is distilled through the use of natural materials whilst the extensive window openings allow a strong visual connectivity to its extraordinary surroundings.

The 1970s-designed facade with solid horizontal spandrel panels and corner location provided a “blank canvas” to use light and colour to transform the position of the building within the building hierarchy of Canberra. Bold and vibrant colours were applied in a hierarchical manner to emphasise the corner location. An animated overlay of vertical lines provides a rhythmical modulation to the façade that fragments the horizontal banding of the building. City Walk Centre is now a more attractive commercial building for the occupants as well as energising and lifting the precinct.

Introducing part 1 of our "Africa Series" where we showcase previous works undertaken by our director from his time in South Africa.

This house is located on a spectacular site within the African bush. The structure is perched from a high vantage point to take advantage of the extraordinary vistas of the surrounding landscape. The contemporary forms merge wonderfully with the natural material palette to integrate well within its context.
