The South Gillieston Sales Suite is the display and information centre for Walker Corporation’s masterplanned community in Gillieston Heights, in the Hunter region of NSW.

It has been designed to showcase the lifestyle vision for the community rather than simply act as an office.

The building reflects the architectural style of the future homes, with a classic white weatherboard exterior, pitched rooflines and generous verandahs. Inside, buyers can explore floorplans, finishes and the broader masterplan, and speak with the sales team about land releases and house and land packages.

The surrounding landscape and pool area help bring the vision to life. Structured gardens, layered planting and outdoor entertaining spaces demonstrate how homes within the estate can feel complete and established from the outset. It is designed to give potential buyers a tangible sense of what living in South Gillieston could look like, from street presence through to the backyard with pool and entertaining area.

At ecodesign we often help our clients find ways to make to make the most of their living space and accommodate their growing family.⁣

For this project, our clients required more space, so we created a design to maximise their steeply sloping bush block landscape. ⁣
⁣
Our design realigned their driveway and terraced front yard in order make extra room for children play on level lawns. This gave the kids multiple playing areas instead of a steep block and they were able to safely put a trampoline and swing set on this play area. ⁣

As we head into Christmas, I want to pause and acknowledge the people who make AEON Group what it is.

Behind every finished outdoor space sits an enormous amount of planning, craftsmanship and teamwork. Our designers, landscapers, project managers, suppliers and specialist contractors give so much of themselves to every project, and I could not be prouder of the way our team shows up each day.

This year, that collective effort was recognised across the 2025 SPASA NSW Awards, The Landscape Association Awards and the LDI National Landscape Design Awards. These achievements reflect not just the work you see, but the collaboration and care behind it across pools, landscapes, planting design, construction and maintenance.

To our clients, thank you for trusting us with your homes and allowing us to submit your projects for recognition. It is a privilege we never take lightly.
As the year closes, my sincere thanks to our entire team, our suppliers, contractors and clients. We share these achievements together.

Think a backyard renovation can be done in two weeks?

Design TV often makes transformations look simple. A few sketches, some quick decisions, a sunny week on site, and the garden appears. The truth is, thoughtful landscape design is a layered process that requires time, planning, and coordination.

Before a shovel ever hits the ground, we work through design concepts, site measurements, drainage considerations, material selections, council or private certifier approvals, and engineering requirements where needed. These steps ensure the space will not only look beautiful, but also function properly, age well, and support the way you want to live.

Once the design is resolved, the build phase needs to be sequenced carefully. Trades must be booked in the right order. Materials must arrive on time. Weather conditions must be factored in. Rushing any part of this process increases the risk of structural issues, drainage problems, or costly rework.

A well-executed backyard renovation typically takes eight to twelve weeks, sometimes longer depending on the complexity. This timeframe allows the project to be built with care, craftsmanship and integrity.
