Interior design is collaborative by nature. Clients, architects, builders, trades and suppliers all bring knowledge and experience to the table.

We believe the work becomes stronger when ideas are tested rather than defended. Sometimes the first solution is right. Sometimes a conversation, constraint or unexpected suggestion reveals something better.

Being open does not mean losing direction. It means having enough confidence in the process to keep listening, keep learning and choose the idea that best serves the client and the project.

Spring has arrived—and Sydney is certainly turning it on.

At Curl Curl, the alfresco has been designed as a true extension of the home: generous, relaxed and ready for long lunches that roll into warm evenings.

An outdoor kitchen, plenty of room to gather by the pool and a strong connection to the garden make this the kind of space that will earn its place all year round—but especially now.

Wellness at home is a real buzz topic at the moment—and products like this are taking it to another level.

This is the all-new home sauna system from Gessi, combining steam, aromatherapy, chromotherapy and multiple water experiences within the shower.

Personally, we love the little foot jets. A massage for tired feet at the end of a long day? Yes, please.

Would you add this to your bathroom?

Version four of our open scullery concept—and this one may be our favourite yet.

The idea is simple: create a kitchen where lots of people can gather, cook and connect, without the room ever feeling chaotic.

The working zones stay concealed until they’re needed. Then the kitchen opens up and comes to life.

When everything is closed, it settles quietly back into the living space—calm, considered and tidy.

Looking back at August, it is hard to believe how much we managed to fit into one month. The last image pretty much sums it up!!

The KBDi Conference was a real highlight. A walk through the Archibald Prize, followed by Mike Hewson’s *The Key’s Under the Mat* exhibition in the basement of the Art Gallery, gave us plenty to think about.

Then came an amazing morning with Dana Tomic Hughes, who left us feeling incredibly inspired—and with many questions about creativity, technology and what comes next.

It was also great catching up with so many industry friends… and snatching a few awards along the way was pretty awesome too!

Back in the studio, Canberra wellness is just about done, Curl Curl has reached the texture stage, the Epping rough-in is nearly complete, Strathfield is ready for check measure and Lugarno is really starting to build momentum. Final tweaks are also being made to Concord as we move into full documentation.

We joined the Made to Build podcast, explored plenty of new products and managed to get kicked out of the Laminex colour launch by a fire alarm!

A month of progress, inspiration, great people and plenty to celebrate.

September, you have a bit to live up to!

There is always a point in the design process where the project suddenly starts to feel real.

We begin in white box, focused almost entirely on space, proportion, circulation, joinery and how each element relates to the next. No colour to distract us. No beautiful finishes doing the heavy lifting. The design has to work first.

Then comes one of our favourite stages: colour and texture

Timber brings warmth. Stone starts to define the architecture. Fabrics soften the room. Artwork, objects and furniture introduce personality. Even the way the light falls across each surface begins to change.

These images show that transition perfectly — from the clarity of the white box into a space that is beginning to reveal its character.

Still the same design.

Now it is starting to feel like a home.

Currently on screen in the studio — and this is the exciting part. Watching the design come to life, one layer at a time.
