The rear addition to the existing heritage cottage at our Wahroonga House project. Clad in Cedar - The two storey addition opens up to the northern aspect and allows light to enter deep into the floor plan. We look forward to sharing more images once complete.

High quality, medium density living on corner block in a heritage conservation zone. The Primary and Secondary dwellings were designed to sympathetically respond to the existing character of the street. Council officers were highly supportive and complimentary of the outcome realised and the project was approved in just 12weeks.

A sympathetic front elevation with refined details aims to positively respond to the Heritage conservation zone that is typified by single level dwellings. Our proposal conceals a second story yet reads as a single-story dwelling. The proportions of the house were carefully considered to meet the site constraints of working in one of Hornsby's oldest heritage conservation zones.

We have received approval for our project in Hornsby's "Wahroonga Heritage Conservation Area". The locale has importance to the opening of the North Shore Railway line and is comprised of primarily single level, weatherboard, workers Cottages. Located on an old Ausgrid site; our proposition is to sensitively insert a new double storey dwelling and complimentary secondary dwelling whilst maintaining the reading of a single storey streetscape.

The Lake House - has been a labour of love for the owner builder. The low-pitched roof and expansive eaves mimic the horizontal nature of the un-interrupted views of the lake. The building is recessive in nature and allow it to settle into the surrounding bushlands

The proposed additions at Sirius increase the permeability of the structure and are purposefully implemented to create a contrast to the enclosed spaces of the existing concrete structure. The harshness of concrete is softened with the use of timber. The brutalist aesthetics are diminished, but pay homage to the important history of the site - The building is neither new, nor old.

A concept drawing inspiration from the existing cottage - The concept is a modern interpretation of small moments. The timber shutters that adorned the windows both internally and externally are re-imagined as a timber battens screening the entire façade
