John worked for us for a little while before he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. More than that he is our brother (in-law) He has been fighting a very big battle in the last few months. Doctors here told him to prepare to die - He is preparing to live! There are treatments in Germany that have worked using a combination of immunotherapy and targeted treatments. He landed this morning and has already seen doctors there that are preparing to start his therapy. There are so many reasons why Australia is normally one of the last to benefit from advancements in medical breakthroughs, nothing I can go into here, but one thing is for sure. John is not only doing this for himself, one of the big motivators is to bring this treatment into Australia. Once a Doctor says to you 'there is nothing else we can do' Shouldn't you be allowed to try experimental procedures without leaving the country? Once proven that these therapies work he will campaign to have these therapies accessible here for anyone that wants to try them.
