As part of the development consent, we had to keep part of the original staircase on the ground floor of our recently finished heritage terrace in Paddington, and amalgamate it with a steel fabricated staircase with timber treads and vertical steel balustrade.

Sydney deserves a civic square that works as both infrastructure and invitation.

Beside Town Hall, a low concrete pavilion floats through the trees — creating a shaded public room with cafés, gathering spaces and Metro connections. Beneath and around it, water, planting and terraces shape a cooler, greener landscape where people can sit, meet, play or simply pass through.

Bold enough to define the square, quiet enough to let Sydney Town Hall remain the hero.
