This is a good story on Functuonal Neurological Disorer (FND) and how it has affected this family. It's our similar story to the last 18 months as a family. This isn't something I have talked about publically but awareness needs to happen for those suffering. It's really frustrating and scary seeing someone you love going through this. Its why I haven't posted. Check out https://fndaustralia.com.au/.

This kids space was really disorganised and always messy. As this was the only storage space in the bedroom, the 8 cube storage just wasn't enough. We upped the cubes to the 12 cube storage unit and put in some cubes which we sorted into toy groups (matchbox cars, lego, nerf guns etc). We gave the books their own area.

This made such a difference and the extra cubes really helped. We donated toys no longer played with to charity as they were in good condition.

How can we help you with your kids toys?

Pantry

This client had these silver canisters. They were already labeled but she didn't know how to organise them effectively to see what she had. With many different types of seeds, legumes and other ingredients to mainly make Indian food, we were able to help her to sort out this pantry to work for her and her family.

After taking everything out, I suggested we move shelves to maximise the space.

We used some wire shelving from to maximise the height of some shelves giving her more space to store the beautiful and unique canisters and show them off. Plus it made it so much easier for her to grab what she needed when she was cooking.

On the right we put like items with like (flour, sugar, kids snacks, biscuits etc) into the baskets and label according to what was in them. Again, this makes it easy for the kids to grab a snack when they get home from school.

My client was very happy with the result and how easily everything in her pantry fits.

Stationary Cupboard

I loved helping this mum. She had lost her mum and was having to make the home she shared with Mum into a home for herself and her son plus wanting to keep the memories of mum alive.

Everywhere we went there were memories of mum. Including in this cupboard. We found recipes mum had handwritten out and loads of notes.
We made a special spot for the recipes and sorted through the notes. We were able to display some of the notes (not in photo taken) and reorganise the cupboard to make sense.

We put all the things needed in easy reach at the bottom and paperwork not needed up the top.

Each basket was labelled with what was in it. Overall, client was very happy with the end result.

Garage Organisation

In this garage we found lots of things this client had forgotten about. We were able to throw a lot of stuff that just wasn't needed - old broken kitchen drawers, broken plastic tubs, broken bags, stuff from past lives and loads of donations.

We repacked boxes ready to be moved to the new home when that time comes, labelled those boxes so its easy to tell what's in them and resealed them well. The same for the big bags.

Client was delighted with the result of the garage - especially now the mower is easy to get in and out!

We'd love to help you - get in touch with how we can help you today!

Linen Cupboard

This cupboard had become a dumping ground for not only linen but all sorts of other things.

After we took everything out and cleaned the shelving, then we started putting everything into piles of like with like.

The client didn't realize they had the white bins already stored in the cupboard so I utilized them to store travel bags, packing cubes and eye masks. I used the smaller one to pop in the faceclothes.

All different items of linen was given a home (bath mats, hand towels, towels, beach towels etc) and the result is everything is easy to find and get when needed.

We'd be happy to chat with you if you are struggling with the clutter in your home. Please DM for more details.

This study was the storage room for this home.

We moved shelving (the small shelves along the wall of the desk) and the largest shelves the window side of the window.

On the big bookcase I sorted out baskets for memories, craft and cards/wrapping.

The small shelves were for kids things - certificates, paperwork, art books and kid memorabilia.

We utilized space in the wardrobes to store things not needed to be accessed regularly.

The boxes under the window is presents that have been collected that need to be sorted through.

Overall, this room is much more practical and usable. Client was thrilled with the result.

You get a call from friends to say they want to pop over for coffee. Panic arises...the house is a mess...

Having a busy life means the house isn’t always tidy and organised... But there is hope...

You can achieve so much in an hour! Split jobs up with those in the house. Make sure each member of the home is aware of what their tasks are and give them that responsibility to get those tasks done.

Use motivators like a song or playlist to give you a period of time to get a certain task done (like cleaning the toilet/bathroom, tidying the kitchen, making the bed etc).

Here are my 9 tips for making the most of your "hour of power":

1) Put all dirty washing in the laundry
2) Find any dirty dishes and put in the dishwasher.
3) Put any rubbish in the bin and take it out to the main bin.
4) Clean floor and vacuum or sweep where needed.
5) Wipe surfaces (tables, benches, bathrooms).
6) Change your cloths if you wish.
7) Walk through your house from the front door to all areas your guests will go (picking up or cleaning accordingly).
8) Talk to your partner about what needs to be done if coffee turns into dinner.
9) Make some food if you have time and put some out for your guests.

Remember good friends come to see you, not your house. So if some things are a bit untidy, don't panic. Enjoy your time with them and be in the moment!

Let me know your best last minute cleaning trick or tip.

Pro Hack...
Have you ever stacked jars or containers in your pantry only to not know what's behind them and forget what you already have on hand?
I have the simplest hack for you!
Grab some masking tape and a sharpie. Tear off some tape, write clearly what's behind the front jars/containers and stick on the shelf behind. Don't forget to fold over the start of your tape to make it easy to remove later. This way you'll always know at a quick glance what's behind your pantry foods.
Post your pics in the comments if you give this a go!
