What a charmer…

One of my favourite drought tolerant ground covers - Cerastium tomentosum (Snow in Summer).

Given its common name due to its masses of snowy white flowers in spring/summer.

Ideal for difficult sites due to its spreading habit. Loves dry, hot positions with well drained soil.

Creating an inviting entrance to your home can make a huge impact.

Pictured here is our Palm Beach project.

Initially this was a ‘fruit salad’ garden; consisting of old, leggy Callistemon, failing Hibiscus, Buxus, Abelia grandiflora- & lots of other common Sydney garden species.

We cleaned up the planting palette, retained the existing Agonis flexuosa (Willow Myrtle), gave it a haircut 💇‍♂️🌳 & softened the entrance with multiple layers of green. As well as creating a new driveway clad in sandstone because

Gorgeous but deadly ☣️☢️

Native to Africa. Commonly known as the Pencil Cactus. A hydrocarbon plant, the milky latex sap from E. tirucalli is extremely irritating to human skin and and is toxic. Exposure to the eyes can also cause temporary blindness.

Whenever I have used these funky (& maybe a little scary) plants it has been as a statement species in a garden bed far out of reach of pets, children…or adults 😂

Bold & Beautiful ✨

A. americana var. marginata is an old cultivar of Agave americana and has beautiful yellow/cream variegation on the outside margins of its leaves.
As they age the leaves recurve giving the plant a more, rangy, sprawling, relaxed appearance which I adore.

A dramatic large landscape or specimen plant, perfect for xeriscapes, excellent in Mid-Century/Palm Springs gardens, or used in barrier plantings. Striking for large containers. Best when planted away from foot traffic as the spines on these guys are nasty!
