I get a few unusual requests from time to time and when a customer asked me to turn a roller door into a sliding door, I knew it was going to be a challenge 🤔. I used rollers and a track designed for an automatic gate and built a timber frame all round to keep each section from folding in on itself. Then to keep everything upright I fitted steel angle to the top of the door that runs inside a rebated timber guide.🙂🛠

Replacement of V-grooved pine wall panelling with log cabin style cypress pine shiplap, complete with a concealed doorway into the downstairs workshop. The old door was a a bifold setup with far too many joins and was a pain to open and close. A maple top sill to finish off the right hand side that was created by joining two lengths of 135 x 19mm stock and then mitring the seen edge and gluing to it a 35mm mitred length. The end result gives the appearanceof a 35mm board at a lower cost.The customer has done an excellent job of staining and finishing the raw timber and matching the colour of the two different species 🙂👍

Bit of a different one here. I was asked to install a vintage timber frame window into a colorbond shed. Was a bit of a pane in the glass to start with but all came clear in the end 🙄😄

Happy New Year folks! (Better late than never!) 😄

We had a great Christmas and New Year with family and friends over in the UK last year and now it's back to business! 👊😉

First off the the line was a laundry refurb' in Winmalee which now looks nice and fresh with new joinery, tiled splashbacks and paintwork.

Sliding door installed and the surrounding, chomped timber has been replaced 🙂🐕

And it's finished!! So happy with how the coop turned out and the proud owners are thrilled with it. Been hard work in the heat but I've been really lucky it hasn't rained. Now a few more weeks and the chicks will have grown big enough to move in 😉
