The NSW Government has made some changes for the construction industry. These changes, which take effect from Wednesday 11th include:

All sites in Greater Sydney can reopen

- This includes sites within the eight affected LGAs
- Construction sites (unoccupied) will be capped at 50% of their maximum daily project workforce to reduce contacts and mobility
- It will be up to principal contractors and/or site owners to determine how that 50% is allocated between different types of personnel and workers

Construction workers on unoccupied sites will be added to the authorised worker list
- This means construction workers from the eight affected LGAs of concern can work on unoccupied sites within their LGA or leave their LGA for work, but they must meet vaccination conditions.
- The Public Health Order (to be released soon) only allows the workers to leave for the purposes of work. That means when they are not working, all stay at home restrictions still apply

Vaccine requirements

Vaccination requirements have been put in place for workers who reside within the affected LGAs due to the high prevalence of COVID infections in those areas.
Construction workers from affected LGAs will be permitted to work within their LGA or leave their LGA only if they have evidence of one of the following:
- both vaccinations, or
- one vaccination at least three weeks prior, or
- one vaccination less than three weeks prior and a negative COVID-19 test no older than 72 hours. (NSW is currently trialing rapid antigen testing and when approved by NSW Health, that form of testing may be used.)

More details will be provided in an MBA Member email tomorrow.

HERE IS A POTENTIAL SOLUTION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN SOUTH WESTERN SYDNEY.

EDIT Online Petition Launched
www.change.org/StartSWbuilding

Firstly let me say that I don't believe the decision to close the construction industry 2 weeks ago was a wise decision, where was the evidence that there were C19 cases being spread from Construction sites?

After the announcement by Premier Gladys Belijiklian on Wednesday morning to keep the Construction closed in Western and South Western Sydney I have been putting some thought into how and what we can do to open up our construction industry again.

My idea is to create a construction industry bubble with the 8 LGAs under lockdown – Fairfield, Blacktown, Cumberland, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Parramatta and Georges River Local Government Areas plus Camden and Penrith .

The government must allow the people who live within the HOTSPOT LGAs to work within the Hotspot LGAs.

The people in Government currently making the decisions obviously have no idea about how the construction industry works, especially the project home builders industry.

I know that the tradies in South Western Sydney would much prefer to have jobs rather than Jobkeeper as Labor Party is pushing for.

"The people of south-western Sydney and Western Sydney are the people that keep our city running," Dr Chant said on Monday.

Together we have to lobby the government to allow the people who live within the HOTSPOT LGAs to work within the Hotpot LGAs. must be used so that the government listens.

GLADYS - LET MY PEOPLE WORK !

A lot of logistics industries for Australian companies are actually located in the middle of the south-west, a lot of workers that work in the building industry, construction, come from the south-west."

As Mark Latham has suggested in his 7 point Plan - Lets get People back to work and Children Back to School.

The Liberal Party is running the daily 11am Doom and Gloom media conference which feels like Groundhog day.

While the typical Labor Socialist mentality of focusing on Handouts not actual Solutions we have the Labor Party bleating about Jobkeeper Handouts.

What we need is to get back to work

We want Jobs not Jobkeeper handouts!

Let's make Sydney Great Again and get back to work.

Gladys, Quarantine the Sick, Protect the Vulnerable but allow the rest of us to keep working and living, locking down six million people for 200 in Hospital isn't working out.

Kind Regards
