My niece is over from Australia and let me tell you I’ve done a lot of baking, a lot of taxi journeys, and a hell of a lot of hosting. Christmas has got nothing on our household this week and to be honest it’s been absolutely fabulous.
I’ll be sad to see her go as my Australia journey will come to a real end - apart from Darcey being over there right now. My niece made challah with my dad today and they are absolutely phenomenal.

. I must say I was very excited to receive the new joy after I attended a cricket press event earlier in the year. I’ve played with it loads but I’m only just sharing it now.
To be totally honest, it took me ages to get it out of the box. I’ve got one of the very original Cricut machines - it must be 10 years old and it’s huge needs lots of wires and I have to use my old laptop to use it. This one is a whole different ball game. It’s small, uses blue tooth and best of all fits underneath my desk next to my printer so it’s out all the time. It’s a bit like having a sewing machine out all the time. Pure joy.
The first thing I made were luggage labels for my nieces in Australia – those are the ones that are on their fridge. I then made envelopes for Chanukkah writing day one, day two etc. On each one and then progressed to these Christmas cards for my nephews and niece. I think they make giving gift cards that little bit more special .
My mind is whirring with all the things I’m going to make with it. I can’t thank Cricut enough for sending it to me. I think I might need to do some iron on vinyls on clothing next What do you think?

Happy 9th birthday to Mr Alan Taylor.
You leave your fur EVERYWHERE (it’s an interior stylists nightmare!), think you rank above Mr MT (nearly), look petrified that I’m going to drop something on you/step on you/ leave you behind - all the time (I probably will) and you constantly bark at every Tesco delivery van/postman/bird and falling leaf you see - but I wouldn’t have you any other way.

Thanks for being my reason to get out the house every morning no matter what and see the seasons, get in more steps and feel like the most important person in the room at all times.

Oh my word!
Anyone who has ever made sourdough bread will know it’s a labour of love. I spent hours lovingly kneading and folding and mixing and proving- in fact it took three days and then I fell asleep on the sofa. Thank goodness for daughterlings who ask if the bread is supposed to be that dark. 😂

it does taste good – honest! But I will be trying it again next week. My sister-in-law Roni gave me some of her starter and it’s so fabulous. I’m totally addicted. I know, I know- I’m five years too late.

I’m in Sydney visiting my brother! Eeeeekkk!
i’m here with my sister and we have brought Darcey with who is going to be travelling after we go home. Bittersweet but we are loving the trip so far.

I wrote you a little poem much earlier today,
But Instagram’s a bu**er and has hidden it away
So let me shout it out again for all to hear near and far
That it’s your birthday all day today so I hope you’re in the bar…
not up a ladder on the stage, or sorting lighting in the booth.
But having fun out with your friends coz that’s what I approve.
The first poem I wrote today shared how we miss you every day
And how we are so proud of you in each and every way.
So happy birthday Beau Beau Bob. We love you so so much ,
Love from your Moo and Poo who can’t wait to see you for lunch - and to get a hug and a kiss😉

If I’m styling a shoot and the product can go on my head, it will go on my head.

Have I mentioned recently that my birthday is Halloween? It makes Halloween shoots even more fun but let me tell you this horror show location was literally crawling with cobwebs and probably tons of spiders. What a fabulous setting for a Halloween range.

Yes, I did paint my nails orange for the shoot and yes, I had lots of fun recording this 🎃👻💀

Do you know what’s the best thing to do on ?

We’re on our way home from a lovely doggo walk in Hastings. We walked to the top of the cliff (to try and walk off a big second breakfast 😋) where proceeded to zoom around in the big open space.

I wish we had a pedometer on him. I’m sure he did triple the amount of steps we did! 😹

He looks pretty happy don’t you think. I love the way he smiles. 🥰

Nearly every year since 2016, I’ve had a surf lesson on holiday in Cornwall. 
Every year… I fall in. A lot. 🌊. I literally breathe in the sea. And I love it. 
But that’s the thing about resilience - it’s not about being the best, it’s about showing up, trying again, and loving it anyway.
Surfing reminds me so much of my work as an interior stylist- You can’t control the waves (or the weather, or the hero product arriving in the wrong colour).
You just get back up, reset, and ride the next one.
This year’s lesson is booked and I can’t wait to be sea drenched and half drowning all over again.
I’ve written a blog about resilience, shoots, and why I keep coming back for more (even when I wipe out- or in the case of this feature - got really ill).

But let me tell you Darcey Doodles to me you’re still a teen.
Or maybe you’re still that giggling kid with mischief in her eye.
That never stops smiling or making us laugh. It’s called the family tie.
We’re so lucky that we got you to complete our little foursome.
You know what’s coming. Yes, you’re right. We think you’re totally AWESOME!
So never change. Not even one bit. We love you just as you are.
Our gorgeous Darcey Rose. Our total superstar.

26 moodboards. One shoot. One very happy stylist.

When a light switch company wants to show how beautifully their products work across loads of different interior styles you go all in.

I created 26 unique moodboards (with lots of help from the fabulous ) for a two day epic shoot - each board telling its own design story through colour, texture, and layout.

From coastal calm to bold maximalist, we covered it all. Seeing it all come together on set (and shooting each one for the brand’s social media library) was a dream combo of styling + storytelling.

Mixing and matching patterns and colours is like putting a kid in a sweet shop for an interior stylist. Absolute dream job.
