Today we pulled up, screeded, laid plastic course and relaid paving. The paving was damp through the summer and winter and eventually the salt being drawn up will leave white patches on the paving. Nick is getting lots of experience of the family business during school holidays.

We have just completed our last job for the year and are now looking forward to spending Xmas with our family and then a couple of weeks of rest and relaxation at Adelaide Shores. I have added photos of today's job.The owners were looking forward to having family seated on the paving for Xmas lunch but not now with 40+ degrees forecast.

We have just completed a job near Riverton that I would like to share with you. Today I want to discuss the most important rule of paving.
"RUBBLE BASE". If you are looking to have paving done it is imperative that a rubble base is laid, wet & compacted. Your paving is costing you a lot of money and without a rubble base under it I garantee that it will eventually sink and sometimes within weeks of being laid. We come across so many repair jobs where a rubble base is not laid. Please consider this when you are given a quote that is dirt cheap, because chances are your paving will be laid on dirt. A rubble base under foot traffic should be a minimum of 75mm thick and under vehicle traffic should be a minimum of 100mm thick.
