Not All Carports Are Equal
Not all carports have to fit the mould.

Our customers had specific requirements that we were committed to meeting:
Customer Requirements
• Maximum Light: The carport needed to allow as much natural light as possible.
• House Attachment: It had to be attached to the house while only covering the driveway.
• Blending In: The structure needed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment.
• Aesthetic Appeal: It was essential that the carport looked good and enhanced the overall appearance of the property.
• Bushfire Compliance: Given the Hills location, it had to meet specific Bushfire requirements.

Our Solution:
We met the brief perfectly with Lysaght Living Firmlok beams in Woodland Grey and a roof made from clear SUNLITE twin-wall polycarbonate. This combination ensured that the carport was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, providing maximum light and seamlessly blending into its surroundings while adhering to Bushfire safety standards.

Carports are an invaluable asset to most homes and of course, they provide much-needed shelter for our vehicles from our harsh Summer sun and Winter rain and frost. They not only protect the vehicles but also enhance the overall value and functionality of the property.

Adding on to a property is not always straightforward and care and attention is needed when there are uneven or misaligned “connections”. In this instance, existing carport posts are not aligned with the front pillar and the position of the tile barge resulted in multiple angles.

Solution: Custom-made fabricated posts, fall to the house with gutter and metal flashing for weatherproofing and a perfect fit – plus the added advantage of coverage right to the fence line.

To make sure is all looks its best, we use Lysaght Living Firmlok Colorbond beams, Flatdek roof sheeting and trim flashing for a perfect fully engineered structure

The area was extended using Firmlok Colorbond beams for a uniform appearance, Colorbond slats to provide partial shade, and Laser-cut cor-ten weathering screens that serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose. These screens are made from a type of steel that develops a stable rust-like appearance over time, creating a natural, earthy look that complements the greenery of the garden. Odd shapes, sizes and slopes can be challenging for many reasons. We often accept the challenges shunned by many others and use our experience and knowledge with the Lysaght Living Colorbond system to plan and custom design for specific purposes.

The final result is fully engineered for durability and structural soundness and looks great.

This particular carport has no side with the same dimension and had to be positioned on a variable slope, required cantilevered corners, needed weather sealed to the garage and avoid services to the house - who would know now?
