Kaltec Services is looking for an Electrical Technician to join our growing team; fully qualified tradesman and high achieving 3rd and 4th apprentices welcome to apply!

Hourly Rate : $42-$50/hr

Kaltec Services is our locally owned and operated business, operating in the Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical sector. Our small team of expert technicians work on various larger commercial sites in Townsville and surrounding areas.

About the role:

As the successful applicant, your duties as an Electrical Technician will include but not be limited to:

-Thermal imaging and RCD testing
-BMS operation/installation/programming
-Electrical installation and maintenance
-UPS and PFC installation and maintenance.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need the following (or be willing to obtain):

-Full Australian working rights essential
-Current drivers’ licence
-Electrical Work & ACMA Cable handling licences
-Up to-date immunisation history (Q-fever, Hep B, Tetanus etc)
-First Aid certificate switchboard rescue/LVR & WWC Blue Card
-Construction white card.

The successful applicant should also have some experience in the following areas:

-Experience in Commercial & Industrial electrical installations
-Experience with maintenance and fault finding
-BMS systems (general operations, installations, and programming)
-Knowledge of UPS and PFC operation and maintenance
-Reading and interpreting electrical controls diagrams
-Knowledge of generator power systems.

Our local library was having issues with high humidity, causing condensation and the deterioration of some older books. We discovered the chilled water filters for the Air-conditioning were so blocked the units were doing zero cooling, causing the rest of the plant to work hard. After a quick clean and re-commission of the units, we bought the building humidity to a more reasonable level and fixed the problem. You wouldn't read about it!
