Pro Cleaner Top Tip
The right impact the quality and efficiency of a job, so here is my list of tools to invest in. Also, I highly recommend not having more than this. Keep clutter to a minimum by not storing things you don't use.
1. Curved Broom - these brooms turn up on the ends so are great for cob webbing ceilings and dusting skirting boards and corners without scratching you plaster and paint work. They are also a broom 😎.
2. Static duster - you are more likely to dust if you don't have to move everything every time. A good quality static buster will last you decades and is great for that weekly dust of fridges, bookshelves, TVs, sideboards ect.
3. Extendable duster with washable microfibre bendable head. This tool is invaluable to me. It dusts fans with ease, gets dust from architraves, tops of doors, high cupboards and really high ceilings. Doing these areas weekly or bi-weekly will save alot of time spring cleaning.
4. Microfibre cloths and magic sponges - I cannot do my work without these. I recommend getting two types of microfibre, regular and glass. The glass cloths I use to polish tapware, sinks and vanity's and of course, mirrors and glass. Regular clothes I use for everything else including washing dishes. They are washer friendly and can last up to two years. That's value 😎. Magic sponges make light work of filthy glass, sinks, bathtubs, showers, walls, ovens, stove tops you get the idea. Anywear that needs extra scrub with scratching. Be gentle on painted surfaces as it can remove paint, and make sure it's always wet before using it. It won't work dry.
5. A squeegee. I think most homes could use three of these. One in each shower to remove water after each shower, and one in the cleaning bucket. Makes getting that streak free finish possible (glass and mirrors are covered in another top tip coming soon).
6. Most important tool will ever own, a good vacuum cleaner. If you have carpet, rip it out and use rugs, but if you are attached to it or renting, you will need two vacuums. One especially for carpets and one for everything else. I have my favourites, just ask me 😍.
7. Finally a mop. Whatever mop you choose to use ( I prefer flat microfibre mops as it's so easy to clean the mop pads) the key is to keep it clean and not mop your floors with a dirty mop or dirty water.
Thanks for joining me and next up will be "CHEMICALS".
Stay tuned.
