Darryl Hathway Painting & Decorating recently attended the Dulux Accredited Painter of the Year awards gala in Melbourne.

We'd love to say a big thank you for your ongoing support that has allowed us to achieve a TOP 4 finish for Large Business nationally, of which we were the only Queensland business.

2015 marks our first entry into the awards, so top 4 nationally is a great result that we are extremely proud of. This would not have been possible without the support of our clients. Being recognised as the best large painting business in Queensland ahead of thousands of competitors is very exciting and we plan on only moving forward from here.

The Brisbane team has just finished this beautiful property on the Brisbane River. Take a look.

The timber features of this architecturally designed riverfront home in Hawthorne were recently brought to new again by the team at Darryl Hathway Painting & Decorating.

Several areas had aged significantly with high exposure to the sun and elements, which required complete removal of the existing semi-transparent coatings.

Once removed and prepared correctly, the bare timber was base coated with Sikkens Cetol HLSe, and top-coated with two coats of Sikkens Cetol Filter 7.

Ongoing maintenance is extremely important with semi-transparent coatings, especially in areas of high exposure to damaging weather conditions. Darryl Hathway Painting & Decorating will continue to maintain the timber features on this property to keep it looking like new long into the future.

This painting and varnishing project, a single, private residence located right on the Brisbane River, covers a 1400sqm floor area (4.5 times the size of an average 4 bedroom home).

The exterior is a combination of extremely weathered Spotted Gum, white sand unpainted concrete, and render, surrounded by never-ending lengths of timber decking and some of the best looking views possible.

It's a project, that we're passionate about (as always), and we can't wait to show you the finished results!
