What’s this big rock we keep posting?

It’s the natural “retaining wall” to the side of our client’s driveway. Being that it’s on Castle Hill it’s most likely majority granite that was blasted/carved during construction

We were initially contacted about the driveway clean, but were subsequently asked if we could get rid of the black buildup on the rock face

Most rock (if unsealed) is porous. Given the uneven nature of this particular face it’s highly susceptible to gathering organic material, moisture, etc in the cracks and therefore will grow mould, lichen, algae etc over time

There are also some rust stains present which occur from the iron in the ground oxidising

We predominantly soft washed the face with sodium hypochlorite, then applied a quaternary ammonium product after cleaning. We did pressure clean some of the higher faces but decided to stop after a while as the pressure was removing loose rock fragments and making unnecessary mess

Karlos joined the team back in February and has been kicking goals ever since. When he’s not power-brooming exposed aggregate driveways, he’s part-time hand modelling or playing air guitar 🎸

How do you feel about extras? 💦

We take a pretty practical approach:

“Hey, do you mind just doing this extra 2 hour job whilst you’re here?” = Don’t take the p**s. ❌

“Hey, I forgot about this small 5 minute extra, could you please give it a clean whilst you’re here?” = Of course. ✅

We’re as, if not more, committed to a great outcome than the client. If this means going that extra mile then that’s exactly what we’ll do.
