🌿 Plant of the Week – Pandan 🌿
Pandanus amaryllifolius

A tropical favourite loved for its beautifully fragrant leaves! Pandan thrives in a warm, partly shaded position with rich, well-drained soil and regular moisture. Growing to around 1–2m tall, it’s perfect for pots or tropical garden beds.

The leaves are widely used in Asian cooking to flavour rice, desserts, curries and drinks with a sweet vanilla-like aroma. Unlike many pandanus varieties, this one is grown mainly for its leaves rather than fruit.

✨ Fun Fact: Pandan is often called the “vanilla of Asia” because of its unique sweet fragrance!
