We’re so excited to be returning to La Fête Nationale du Québec⚜️ in Sydney at The Hive Bar this Saturday, June 20. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting members of the Québec and Canadian community once again! 🍁

And I’m especially relieved to share that the books have finally arrived. After a few delays along the way, I’ll be able to bring all pre-orders, as well as extra copies for fellow expats and friends.

Québec Kitchen Abroad was written to introduce our French-Canadian culture to readers overseas, but also as a companion for Québécois and Canadian expats and their families, especially here in Australia. I hope it brings joy, comfort, and a few good laughs because, as we know, some Québec expressions and dish names are pretty out there.

This will be my very first book appearance, although not quite the official launch yet. Québec Kitchen Abroad will be released on June 24, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (Québec Day).

Books will be available from 5pm. If you’re in Sydney but not attending the party and would still like to see the book, feel free to stop by a little earlier to avoid the crowd.

À bientôt à tous ceux qui seront là! 🍁📚

Québec Kitchen Abroad will be officially released in both eBook and hardcover on June 24, 2026, Saint-Jean-Baptiste (Québec Day). 🍁

I’m so thrilled to share that I’ve received samples from the first hardcover offset print run, and the book looks amazing! 🧡

The Australian shipment is now in custom clearance, and should arrive very soon and just in time for my local book events. The Québec allocation has already arrived, and I’ll be heading over in August for my little Québec tour.

This is all starting to feel very real! 😄

What kind of food will you find in Québec Kitchen Abroad cookbook? 🍁

From simple everyday ideas to more elaborate recipes, the book brings together over 80 recipes inspired by Québec home cooking.

You’ll find indulgent comfort dishes, fast food-inspired favourites, much-loved vegetarian staples from the province, wild flavour suggestions as well as all sorts of recipes and preserves made with homegrown produce.

It’s a diverse and richly illustrated book, filled with stories, cultural insights, and delicious recipes for all seasons and occasions. Nothing intimidating, just authentic, homemade food made with accessible ingredients. And of course, some maple syrup! 😋

And while it’s a special hardcover edition, it’s also a book you’ll cook from again and again, with recipes designed to be practical, generous and worth having in your kitchen.

Out on June 24!

Something that came into my life after moving to the Australian High Country was chestnut season. They’re so versatile! They are also comforting when the weather cools down, keeping your hands warm since the peeling has to be done while they’re still hot.

I roasted a batch this weekend… but being busy, distracted and tired, I learned a lesson from a little chestnut explosion: score them well with a sharp knife and don’t overcook them if they refuse to open! 😅🌰

I think my knives need sharpening.
