Engineered fumed Oak. The original factory applied hardwax finish was well and truly cactus when we got there so we sanded off what was remaining and applied Bona Prime Intense and Traffic HD top coats.

Initially thought this was Australian Blackwood however we had to repair a small section and concluded that the parquetry floor is original, only 10mm thick, tongue and groove, laid on a felt backing and secret nailed and without adhesive. Probably American Walnut. Anyway, we sanded off the old gloss polyurethane and applied a new coating, Bona Classic UX and Traffic HD top coats for a much lighter effect.

Tasmanian Oak always looks better with some added colour. We direct stained this one with our custom Blackened Oak spirit stain, applied a polyurethane sealing coat and finished it off with Bona Traffic HD tops coats.
