We are a volunteer group of about a dozen gardeners, who assist the council in keeping many large and small reserves looking good.
Our main tasks are weeding, pruning the roses in July and planting of the annuals twice a year in the roundabouts, notably the one at Newland Church and the other by the Council offices/library.
We all find it really satisfying to see our city looking better for our efforts.
The group meets once a week on Tuesday mornings at 8:30am and garden until 10am when we retire for a welcome cup of coffee/tee, mostly at the central Crown Hotel.
If anyone feels like joining this friendly bunch, they would be most welcome.
