You might think that a Security Camera is just a Security Camera or an Alarm System is just an Alarm System!
Well that's not always the case.
Redback Security Solutions will only use NDAA certified products from start to finish.
NDAA compliance refers to adherence to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which prohibits the use of certain manufacturers' surveillance and telecommunications equipment that are considered a national security risk.
To be NDAA compliant, products must undergo a comprehensive vetting process to ensure that they don't contain parts from banned manufacturers.
This includes:
Manufacturer:
Ensuring that the manufacturer is not on the U.S. government's ban list.
Components:
Scrutinizing the origin of camera components to prevent the use of banned foreign hardware.
Software:
Rigorously evaluating the software running on the camera to ensure it's free of vulnerabilities.
Products that are NDAA compliant are often marked with text or a logo that indicates compliance.
Some of the Chinese manufacturers that have been targeted include:
Hikvision, Dahua, Huawei, ZTE, and Hytera Communications Corporation.
NDAA compliance is important because it helps to safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive government facilities, also non-compliant products can also have serious consequences for businesses and government entities, including the loss of funding, government projects, and reputational damage! let alone your privacy in a residential installation.
This is something we are getting questioned about it on a daily basis.
