Ngariin Bilba by Merinda Kelly Yawayi & welcome! I am a proud Dhanggati/Worimi woman, exploring and growing on my artistic journey. Yawayi!!

I am a very proud Dhanggati and Worimi woman born on Awabakal land and now based on Wiradjuri Country. I started my journey as an Indigenous artist during the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns while I was based on Ngunnawal Country. Since 2020, my skills and confidence as an artist have grown and I now consider it a passion.

'Ngariin Bilba' is my mob language and means 'Eldest Sister Paintin

g'. I am the oldest of seven and being a sister is a massive part of my identity. I incorporated this into my art logo, it depicts myself and my brother and sisters sitting around a campfire.

Yawayi everyone!

It's been a minute.

Since I was last active on my page, a few exciting things have happened!

I had a stall at my very first market. I sold a few small pieces and not as much as I'd have hoped but it was a great experience.

I'm not sure where this idea came from but it just flowed out like the paint from the brushes..

It's 30cm X 40cm, acrylics and paint pens on canvas. $250 including a certificate of authenticity and stamped with my brand logo.
