We loved seeing our little ones thriving on Country at Peronne ๐ŸŒฑ

Dalki Garringa Native Nursery (DGNN) grew seedlings for this BushBank project, and our crew visited the site last week. Uncle Waz Marks delivered a Welcome to Country, and four of our team went out to see the work on the ground.

As one team member said, โ€œIt was great to see where the little seedlings we grew were put into the ground, itโ€™s amazing to see how many there are.โ€

Thank you to our partners at and for the ongoing collaboration. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒโœจ Each spring, endangered Bogong Moths make their epic journey to the alpine zones, just as Mountain Pygmy-possums wake from hibernation, hungry for them.

But in recent years, fewer moths have been arriving, putting both species at risk.

Zoos Victoria scientists are working to track when and where Bogong Moths appear. You can help too, if you spot one, take a photo and upload it to Moth Tracker.

Itโ€™s quick, easy, and makes a real difference.

Dalki Garringa Native Nursery recently hosted Russell and Berry Wait from Manangatang for a grafting workshop that focused on eremophila and citrus grafting techniques. Russell is a well-known expert on eremophila and is the author of the book "Growing Eremophila". These talented teachers drove all the way from Riddles Creek to share their skills with us.

One significant outcome of the workshop is our ability to graft finger limes, which represents another big step towards achieving our Dalki Banyim (Good Eating) aspirations.

It was a valuable professional development opportunity for our team, and everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you, Russell and Berry!

We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who visited Dalki Garringa Native Nursery during the Wimmera Machinery Field Days last week. It was so nice to meet people from across the district and hear their stories about Wail Nursery.

We were excited to share our knowledge about soil, seeds, and native plants with dozens of people and received fantastic feedback on our garden display.

We are already looking forward to next yearโ€™s event, where we can showcase even more farm trees and bush foods.

Yesterday, Zoo Victoria sent their interns, specialising in rare and threatened species, for a day at Dalki Garringa Native Nursery. They came to learn about the Creeping Boobialla, a native plant that Zoo Victoria is collaborating with the nursery to propagate in order to help sustain the population of Golden Ray Blue Butterflies. The interns gained hands-on experience in caring for the Creeping Boobialla plant. You can read more about this collaboration here: https://www.zoo.org.au/fighting-extinction/local-threatened-species/golden-rayed-blue-butterfly/
