Hi, I’m Jake.
I am a typical 6 month old, energetic Kelpie.
Unfortunately, my previous owners have done absolutely nothing with me except put me on a chain, so I have a bit of catching up to do.
For a clever, active, fun-loving guy like me, that life was hell, so I was really excited when KPR came and got me.
My previous owner had lots of bad stuff to say about me. She said I didn’t listen and that she was taking me to the vet to be killed if KPR didn’t pick me up.
I have only been a KPR kid for 24 hours but in that time, I have been to the vets and met some of the KPR team and volunteers and they all think that I am the most gorgeous natured boy.
They all think that my previous owner didn’t deserve me and that I am better off away from there.
I have been friendly with everyone and submissive with the other dogs that I have met.
I do cringe a bit when humans move quickly near me and I did accidentally p*e myself when I thought someone was going to hurt me, but they tell me that everything is ok.
Maybe I wasn’t such a bad dog after all?
Maybe I was just with the wrong humans.
My new life starts now.

Hey there, it's me, Callistemon.

Today, I reached a milestone - I am turning five months old.

It should be a time of celebration, but instead, I find myself still waiting for my forever home.

You see, I'm the last pup left from a litter of thirteen siblings. It's been quite the journey growing up alongside my brothers and sisters.

My foster mum always tells me I have the best manners, and she lovingly calls me her "good girl." But despite my efforts to be the best version of myself, nobody seems to want me.

I've watched as each of my siblings found their loving families, one by one. My heart filled with a mix of hope and sadness every time I see them leave. I can't help but wonder, why I am not also adopted like they were.

I don't understand why I'm still waiting. I've learned so much from my foster mum, eagerly absorbing every bit of knowledge she shares with me. I'm a quick learner and have the best manners you could ask for in a puppy.

But still, day after day, I remain overlooked, like a forgotten petal in a vast meadow.
