On this day in 2021 I had a bit going on…
Navigating what would be the beginning of 18months of mind provoking work.
Each had their fair share of challenges to overcome and all required a thoughtful approach.
It’s never about rushing in this game but some required priority, so whilst triaging quite literally hundreds of calls the brain power demanded overtime.
Not an easy juggle, but one I saw through to the very end.

A couple of removals in Kinglake…
A beautiful mornings work removing the canopies followed by a midday cut up of the stems.
Tree work is never about mess and chaos, it requires a planned approach and a methodical ex*****on.
Sure there’s hard yakka in the process, but that’s a given.

Compromised root plate on this yellow box required swift action to remove before it removed itself and damaged its perfectly sound trees in its path.
Clean, methodical and safe work as always.

Looking for someone with 3–5 years climbing experience who’d like to work alongside myself and my offsiders.

Very relaxed, competent outfit with a good crew culture. Larger and more technical works are generally undertaken alongside highly experienced contract climbers, so there’s no pressure to “do it all” but plenty of opportunity to grow, develop and climb everything in between.

Based around Melbourne’s east.

Start date around July/August.

While that may be true, the warning signs are often there long before failure occurs.

Autumn is the season where many fungi and fruiting bodies begin to appear around the base of trees and on stems often indicating underlying decay within the root system or trunk.

Not every fruiting body means a tree is dangerous, but they can be an important indicator that a tree should be professionally assessed.

Worth keeping an eye out as we head into the wetter months.
