MILBURN SECURES TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP
Veteran Sprintcar driver Brett Milburn scored the $5000 to win 360-LS Sprintcar Welsh’s Garage Doors & Gates Track Championship last weekend at Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway.
Milburn came agonisingly close to losing the win courtesy of a heat race crash where he failed to finish. This put Milburn in the B-main, having to make up several positions to qualify for the A-Main, and the ability to score points to secure a championship win.
However, he recovered to claim the last transfer position and go onto finish the A-Main in seventh position and lock in the win following the three Championship rounds.
Impressive young racer James Oliver held onto second place by the smallest of margins courtesy of his tenth-place finish.
Tasmanian Tate Frost recorded a podium finish on Saturday, but it wasn’t quite enough to take second place from Oliver, and he finished third in the season long championship.
Thomas McDonald, another emerging Sprintcar racer, finished fourth ahead of Portland’s Daniel Storer who scored the Dirt X Industries front hubs from the random prize draw for drivers finishing in fourth to tenth place. Sixth was Harry Ross followed by jamie veal, Ben Morris, Matthew Symons and Dennis Jones, rounding out the top ten in points.
Premier Speedway wishes to thank Welsh’s Garage Doors & Gates and Dirt X Industries for their tremendous support towards the 2024/25 360-LS Sprintcar Track Championship. Please support these businesses wherever possible as a thanks for their investment into our sport.
Thank you also to every driver who competed in the 360-LS Sprintcar division at Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway during the season. There were over 50 cars who competed at least one of the rounds, which is fantastic support.
