What is hydronic heating?

Hydronic central heating is a system of radiant heating which provides a gentle warmth to the house.

It is a central heating system whereby water is heated by a centrally located boiler then pumped and distributed by a series of pipes to emanate heat through panel radiators, towel racks or the floor itself. As the radiators emit heat, the water cools down and is pumped back to be re-heated by the boiler. The boiler is usually installed outside the building to be heated, similar to a hot water service, and uses natural gas or electricity (using a Heat Pump solution for those without a natural gas connection) as an energy source to power the system.

Radiant heating warms the surfaces of a room: the floor, the walls, the furniture, which subsequently slowly give off their warmth to the cooler surroundings. Like gentle sunshine warming surfaces.
