Transforming a Morris Minor 1000 4 door Sedan into a 1953 Morris Minor Fire Engine Replica. Why not!

Basically everything has been hand built from the cowl panel and back. The floor of the vehicle has remained standard but has been reinforced. A MM Model donor vehicle was purchased from the wreckers, using the top cowl section, windscreen outer frame and front end to achieve the right look. The bonnet was also modified to match the new cowl panel and there was plenty of rust repairs to do as well.
It was finished off in PPG Signal Red, while the sign writing was hand painted by Earle Signs.
The vehicle was built using photos the owner took himself whilst visiting a museum in England.

This unique project was on display at the Adelaide Auto Expo over the weekend and came home with two trophies.

Great results from the Adelaide Auto Expo show over the weekend.

Dave Bonetti's 32 Ford 5W Coupe came in 2nd place overall in the Elite category with;
R/U Best Paint
R/U Best Body
R/U Best Undercarriage and Driveline

FATT32 was also there and entered in the Hot Rod category.
This hotrod made its first debut on the show scene 9 years ago and still proves to be a favourite with;

Highlights of the FC build which left the shop earlier this year. This vehicle took on major modifications including extending front doors, moving centre pillars back and fabricating new quarter panel sections catering for 2 door conversion. It has a custom one off chassis and Rod Tech front end and 4 link rear end with coil over shocks all round. The vehicle was rolling on a set of 20" American Legend Billet wheels and also ran LS V8 engine, followed with a Tremec 6 speed gearbox.

The weekend that should have been Finke 2020, instead reminiscing on the great success the team had last year with Jack Rhodes taking out 1st Place in the Pro Class car category, following by Tom Jones taking out 1st Place in Masters category on the bike. Always a pleasure working with the Rhodes Racing Team - looking forward to more success in 2021
