It was a happy–sad celebration over a long lunch at Black Cat Truffles, Wattle Flat last Friday.

After five years together, we farewelled Oshadi and wish her every success as she continues her career in landscape architecture.

At the same time, we were delighted to welcome Priyanka, who recently joined our office as a graduate landscape architect from Adelaide.

We also enjoyed catching up with Yolanda, currently on maternity leave, and loved meeting baby Hazel – absolutely perfect!

And to finish on a high, we celebrated Heidi’s engagement – congratulations! 🎉

We’re honoured to have received two awards—in Infrastructure and Land Management—for our Stonehill Estate project in Maddingley.

It’s a proud and humbling moment to see our work recognised alongside so many inspiring landscape projects.

Last night our office attended the AILA VIC Australian Institute of Landscape Architects 2025 Awards Night.

We were thrilled to receive two awards for the Stonehill Gully and Escarpment Regeneration project, including the Award of Excellence for Land Management and the Landscape Architecture Award for Infrastructure.

Senior Landscape Architect Heidi Mikulic has done a fantastic job leading this project over the past 10 years, transforming a seriously degraded landscape into a biodiverse ecosystem that will benefit the developing local community for years to come.

Thank you to Balance Enviro Solutions, Axiom Consulting Engineers, Melbourne Water and Moorabool Shire Council for their collaboration and support throughout the project.

We have enjoyed working alongside the Warrenheip community members over the past 12 months to develop the master plan for the Warrenheip Recreation Reserve. Such a worthwhile project to be part of.

Last month Heidi was a speaker at the “Seeds of Change” conference organised by the Therapeutic Horticulture Australia in Noosa. Therapeutic Horticulture is the practice of using nature to support social, physical and mental wellbeing. Heidi talked about designing outdoor spaces for people with dementia and her experience in designing a dementia friendly forest and sensory trail at Woowookarung Regional Park on the edge of Ballarat.
The conference was a really inspiring interchange of ideas and conversations between health care professionals, therapeutic horticulture practitioners and designers.
During the conference Heidi met Amanda Collins, another passionate Ballarat local. Local tours including Diggers Rest - 'A Soldiers Retreat' and the Garden of Hope, a space for people with eating disorders - on the Sunshine Coast

It was lovely to finally meet Yolanda’s mum, dad cousin and new husband Paul today. We had a beautiful lunch together at the office. Yolanda has been working with us for 6 years and has missed a lot of time with her family due to Covid during this time. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon Yolanda and Paul!

What a lovely way to celebrate another great year - lunch at Black Cat Truffles, Wattle Flat. The venue, the service and the food were outstanding. We could even walk there from the office! Thanks to all our clients and our wonderful and talented team. We wish you all a safe and relaxing festive season.

After working on the design of the Stage 15 Park at Imagine Estate, Strathfieldsaye for over 2 years, it really is very satisfying to see it open and being enjoyed by the community. As designers, we enjoyed working with Villawood to create different spaces including the playground and tower, urban forest, games lawn and natural play area. Some of the challenges included working with the natural topography on the site and incorporating the theme of bees across many park elements. We hope this park becomes a buzzing hive of activity within Imagine Estate!
