Winter has felt more like a second spring so far. No frosts yet in the Hills.
Across much of southern Australia, mild temperatures and favourable growing conditions have livestock producers smiling, with stock putting on weight and pasture growth remaining strong for this time of year.
Weather Update
Recent rainfall has delivered welcome moisture across large areas of Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria, helping to set up many districts for a strong spring. Soil moisture reserves have improved significantly in many regions, providing a solid foundation heading into the second half of the growing season.
Forecast
The 8-day outlook remains encouraging, with further rainfall expected across parts of northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. While the rain is arriving too late, and in insufficient quantities, to significantly influence planting decisions west of Moree, it should provide a valuable boost to crops already established across northern NSW and southern QLD.
For much of southern Australia, the combination of good stored soil moisture, active pastures and favourable winter conditions continues to paint a positive picture as we move towards spring.
