Geranium 'Rozanne' has a delicate sprawling habit and unique violet/blue flowers from spring to late autumn. Flowers really do last for ages and ages with this one!

The Kings have arrived! These fantastic King Proteas get flowers that can go from 12cm to 30cm in diameter! Loves well drained acidic soils in a full sun position that can tolerate part shade.

The plant will reach 2 metres tall and 1.5 wide and its guaranteed to be an eyecatcher!

Lots of good South African Protea and Leucadendron options at Alowyn at the moment. Bring some winter colour to your garden!

We're back this Saturday 27th of June with another FREE information session on everything roses with master landscaper John Van de Linde. 👩‍🌾

Our first session was thoroughly enjoyed by the group who came along. ☺️

Join us from 10:30am-12:30pm, Saturday 27th of June in the Alowyn Farmshed for a session about Rose pruning, feeding and mulching! 🌹

We will also go over some general winter gardening maintenance jobs you you can do now that will pay off come Spring, including pruning fruit trees! 🌿

Come along, ask your garden questions and we will endeavour to answer them for you!

Such a pure, bright pink! This is Brachyscome ‘Fresco Candy’, a larger leafed, larger flower version of the basic native one. It creates a neat clump of up to 25 x 45cm and grows well in a sunny position. It tolerates heat and the flowers are attractive to pollinators.

Create a border around a veggie patch or general garden beds or mix with plants such as lavenders, lambs ears, kangaroo paws, or blue fescue. You could even underplant roses with them.

'Twilight zone' roses have a rich purple colour and a lovely scent. They are sure to please many a gardener that are looking to expand on the colours of their roses!

These plants will will upto 125cm tall making them a good medium sized shrub for the mix!

Corylus avellana 'Crazy Filbert' is as interesting as its name - for anyone looking for something a bit unique in the garden. Twisted branches and yellow catkins after foliage has dropped create a unique look!

They can be kept in a pot or in the ground height will reach 4 metres with a width of 2 metres. Definately a conversation piece with friends and family!

Its nice to have some winter colour about lately! We are open all through the winter months and can help you prepare for spring or pick out some lovely winter flowers for this season!

A weeping japanese apricot is a the first of the Prunus to flower in early to mid winter!

The semi double dark pink blooms first appear at the top of the tree before waterfalling down as they gradually open- Lasting several weeks! Grows best in deep, rich, moist soils. And can tolerate moderately drained soils as long as they have had some preparation! Pop into the Alowyn Nursery and we can help you with any questions!
